About

AudioGroove blog is simply a blog written for house music fans, by house music fans. We are hear to plug the show 'AudioGroove Radio' which can be found online every Sunday afternoon between 14.00 & 16.00 GMT on www.systemradiodublin.com & to keep you up to date with all that's goin on in the house music scene in Dublin and further afield. We try to cover all types of house & electronic music, but our favourites will always get written about more often!
We love to hear tracks and mixes from new and established DJs, so if you’ve found something that needs to be shared, send it to us at audiogroove@yahoo.ie

If you are a DJ, producer or promoter with a few tracks or a new night to show off – let us know and we’ll see what the world of dance music thinks of them!  Guest writers are also more than welcome should you have something to say but nowhere to say it.
We love to promote new music that we like. All media should be treated as promotional preview material. If we have posted any content that we are promoting that you are the copyright holder of and you do not want us to help promote, send us an email and we will remove it.

House Music

House music is a style of electronic dance music that originated in Chicago, Illinois, United States in the early 1980s. It was initially popularized in mid-1980s discothèques catering to the African-American,[1][2] Latino American,[1][2] and gay[1][2][3][4] communities; first inChicago circa 1984, then in other cities such as New York CityTorontoMontrealLondonDetroitSan FranciscoLos Angeles and Miami. It then reached Europe largely due to the infamous House Music Tour visiting England. England played a pivotal role in the development of house music throughout Europe. Since the early to mid-1990s, it has become infused in mainstream pop and dance music worldwide.
While house music does not have a direct predecessor in genre, it is considered by some to be strongly influenced by disco with elements of soul and funk.[5]
House music is based on four-by-four dance structure, popularized by disco, frequent use of a prominent bass drum on every beat, and may feature a prominent synthesizer basslineelectronic drums, electronic effects, funk and pop samples, often with reverb- or delay-enhanced vocals.
